Studying Abroad in Denmark

 

I was fortunate enough to study abroad in Denmark at the Danish Institute of Study in Copenhagen. Scandinavian furniture design has a deep history of considering people, culture, and society in design development. Seeing the work of designers such as Alvar Aalto, Bruno Mathsson, and Hans Wagner has influenced the way I look and understand furniture design. I was also able to witness Scandinavian craftsmanship visiting P.P.  Mobler, Swedese, and IKEA. I was able to see the details and heart that is invested in each piece.
